Blogging in 2008

I actually don’t want to blog. There is something strangely egocentric, capitalistic, and grotesquely “liberal” about the whole process of blogging that makes me wary. I mean, my plans for the violent revolution will only ever be carried out within the dream-world known as academia, higher-ed, the tower. And my blogging about it will likely result in simple bitching. I hear, however, that the critiques on liberalism and neoliberalism that you will find here over the next couple years or so will help me in the process of writing my dissertation (by fooling myself into thinking that people might actually read my work outside of academia via a blog. sweet illusion.). So I’ll be here for a year to rant and…mostly rant about the state of world and how Latina/o cultural production figures into that “state,” along with cheesy life ponderings while I try to stay sane during these (few?) years of dissertation cynicism. Cheers!
